Solar Plate Printmaking

This printmaking piece started as a photo I took at the Nelson Atkins Museum in Kansas City, Missouri. This piece is made in the same way The Beast was made. I took this piece and created a solar plate print. This process begins by printing the image onto a film and preparing a plate. Next, I placed the film over the plate and exposed it to UV light. After washing and letting the plate harden, I began printing the pieces. This process is very fun, long, and messy.
