Family Weekend Talent Show

posters, tickets, and programs campaign

These pieces were created for John Brown University’s 2020 Family Weekend Talent Show hosted by SEA. I designed a series of works including two posters, tickets, programs, and a series of characters. I worked on these pieces from the concept work to printing with most of them including discussing changes and ideas with clients. This project started with a 4-color palette and an idea for a style. To decide on how to make the characters and use the color palette I started with pencil sketches. Starting with pencil sketches helps me keep vector work loose and not too blocky.  After that, I took pictures of my sketches and started building the characters up from there. Using the color palette, I tried to vary skin and hair color so there was diversity between the characters. The background of the first poster was made to be able to manipulate it for the other pieces including another poster, programs, and tickets. I made a separate document for the characters with an option of shadows to make my workflow easier and for the others working on taking my designs onto Instagram.

Below you can see some of my sketches and my process.
